Major tourist destinations in Uganda, Uganda is commonly termed the Pearl of Africa presenting unique ecosystems. These are homes to plant and animal species. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is known for its resident species the mountain gorillas. they live peacefully in the wilderness without being captivated. it hosts half of the world’s remaining population of the primate, the national park is bisected into four sectors Rushaga, Nkuringo, Buhoma, Ruhija. Kibale Forest National Park is home to 13 primate species, it is commonly known for the Chimpanzee, there are many chimpanzee troops in the national park, they live in groups of upto 100 members led by a male alpha, these are social, intelligent species scientifically proven to share upto 98% of the Human DNA, the Chimpanzee love to nest in the tree canopies most of the time and a loud with their Charter sound. Other species include the L’hoest monkeys, Black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, pottos, and bush babies among others.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second largest park of Uganda, it has the highest concentration of birds count wide out of the 1000species recorded, 600 of them call this home, the gazetted area is a savannah park commonly known for the tree-climbing lions in the southern part Ishasha, it is the one only place to find them. The Kazinga channel is the highlight of any travel to the park activities done here include game drives, guided Nature walks, and boat cruises. Murchison Falls National Park situated in the northern part in Nwoya district, the park is largest of all the conservation areas gazette in 1952 it covers an area space of approximately 3893 square Kilometers, the park falls under the Murchison falls conservation area together with the karuna wildlife life reserve. It was renamed Kabalega national park by Idi Amin dada and later following his downfall the park regained it’s me to Murchison falls national park, the park is bisected into by the victoria Nile, having the northern and southern sector, popular animal species includes Jackson hartebeests, water bucks, warthogs, oribi, lions, leopards, jackal, hyenas, Rothschild’s giraffes to mention a few.
Kidepo Valley National Park comprises 2 parts the Kidepo Valley and the Narus Valley, the savannah is rich with the animal more so along the Narus valley because of water composition it is the only place that has a constant water supply in the park. Popular activities include game drives, visiting the Karamojong communities.
